Purpose of the Placement

The purpose of this placement is to provide the student with practical experience in a professional environment, enhancing their learning and career development.

Responsibilities of the Host Organization

The Host Organization agrees to:

Provide a safe and supportive working environment

Assign a mentor/supervisor to oversee the student’s activities

Ensure tasks assigned are suitable for the student’s experience level

Comply with health & safety, employment, and safeguarding laws

Inform the school of any concerns about the student’s welfare or performance

Responsibilities of the School

The School agrees to:

Ensure the student is prepared for the placement.

Provide relevant information on the student’s background, including medical or special needs (if applicable).

Maintain communication with the Host Organization and provide support as needed.

Arrange appropriate insurance coverage where necessary.

Responsibilities of the Student

The Student agrees to:

Follow the Host Organization’s rules, policies, and instructions.

Behave professionally and respectfully.

Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Report any issues or concerns to their school contact person.

5. Insurance and Liability

The Host Organization confirms it has Employer’s Liability Insurance that covers the student during the placement.

The School must confirm if additional insurance coverage is required.

The Host Organization will conduct a risk assessment before the placement begins.

6. Health & Safety

The Host Organization will provide an induction, including health & safety procedures.

The Student must comply with all health & safety regulations.

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

The Student agrees not to disclose any confidential information about the Host Organization.

Any personal data shared between parties will be handled in compliance with GDPR (UK Data Protection Act 2018).

Termination of Placement

The placement may be terminated if:

The student fails to follow the agreed terms.

There are health & safety or safeguarding concerns.

Either party provides written notice requesting termination.
